About Evergreen
We believe in the power of quality sport to create an active, healthy, and inclusive community.
Evergreen was created to inspire a lifelong passion for physical activity through sport experiences in the community.
We want to ensure that ALL members of our community have access to quality programs so they can stay active and live a healthier life. Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club (CMF) established the Evergreen Fund to support community sport.
The Club’s financial inclusion efforts began in 2005 when CMF implemented our automated registration system and accepted online donations.
A partnership with KidSport Tri-Cities, provided the club with an established and independent adjudication of financial needs for club members.
Kidsport began as a Sport BC program in 1993, expanded across Canada, and has served almost 1 million families since then. Kidsport was founded in Coquitlam in 2004 and expanded to cover the Tri-Cities in 2007.
CMF has donated over $325,000 to Kidsport since 2009, which has enabled approximately 2,000 kids to participate in community sport.
In 2012, CMF began to provide an annual grant to Kidsport, extending their ability to broaden their impact across more community organizations.
CMF has also invested an additional $65,000 internally to enhance inclusion and remove financial barriers for community members.
